Welcome to the new academic year, a year of opportunity and great success!
The teacher in Year 6 this year is Miss Burton and our teaching assistant is Mrs Roberts. Both of us have worked in year 6 for a couple of years now and are very much looking forward to working with this new class.
Lots of hard work and determination is needed if we want to achieve our goals this year. Amongst the hard work, I’m sure we will have lots of fun as we enjoy our journey through our final year of Primary School.
The children have made a grand start already with their fabulous World War 2 models. They have also created an information sheet about someone who inspires them and there have been some pretty impressive inspirational people! We have also been sent some postcards sharing happy moments from the summer holidays. Wow! What a positive start it has been!
This term is going to be a long one, which means we have no choice but to fill it with as many learning opportunities as we can. Alongside daily English, Reading, Spelling and Maths, there will be Topic sessions. Our main topic this term is Bombs Away which is linked to the World War 2 studies and its effect on Britain. We will also be studying ‘Light’ and ‘Evolution and Inheritance’ in Science this term.
I’m sure there will be some awesome moments this term. Lets just remember to work together, help each other and try our best!
