Our class teacher is Mrs Whitehouse. Mrs Whitehouse is the school SENCo and forms part of the management team. She is responsible for Behaviour and Guided Learning across the school. Due to Mrs Whitehouse’s busy timetable she only teaches in the morning. In the afternoon Mrs Costin is our teacher and she will be teaching all of our topic lessons.
Class Teaching Assistant
Our class teacher assistant is Mrs Wheeler, a highly skilled member of staff who has a vast knowledge when it comes to supporting children with Special Educational Needs. She is very good at keeping Mrs Whitehouse and Mrs Costin organised!
The Summer Term is going to be a very busy one for Year 2. We are going to be revising very hard for our SATS and learning lots of new facts. In English we are going to be writing our own version of The Jolly Postman. Mrs Whitehouse has said that if we work hard we can even make them into a book!
In Maths we are going to be practising using number lines to add, subtract, multiply and divide. We will also be working on telling the time and looking at how to measure different things and which units we use to do this.
Mrs Costin is going to be teaching us all about The Great Fire of London and how it started and how it stopped.
In June we will be going on a very exciting trip to the Shrek Adventure in London. We are going to use this trip as an inspiration for our writing after half term.
Reading is very important for us this year so it is imperative that we continue to read every day.
