Miss Love is very passionate about this subject and has organised many class assemblies, in which have incorporated drama and singing, boosting the children’s confidence. Miss Love also runs the School Council, where she organises school events and allows pupil voice to be heard.

Class Teaching Assistant
Our class teaching assistant is Mrs Hay. Mrs Hay is one of our longest serving members of staff at Lime Walk and has many hats in which she wears around our school! Some of these roles include class TA, lunch time supervisor as well as breakfast club supervisor. Mrs Hay is always helping others and brings happiness and care into Miss Love’s Classroom.

Class Studies
This half term year 1 will be learning all about the topic ‘People Who Help Us’ and will also be learning about ‘The Great Fire of London’ within our History lessons.

Within Literacy, the year 1 children will be writing a non-fiction recount on ‘The Great Fire of London’ including all the keys facts learned within our History afternoon lessons.  In the final week will be writing an effective character description on the children’s favorite ink slinging character Horrid Henry!

Within Maths the children will be focusing on counting across 100, finding one more and one less, ordering numbers and will also begin work on multiplication and division.

The children also have their class assembly this half term where they will be sharing their learning on ‘The Great Fire of London’ so please come along to see us!

The children have their Phonics Screening Test next half term and so the children are working extremely hard to secure and apply their phonological learning. Please continue to read at home with your child and please also practice the Phonics Screening 2015 past paper in which will be provided this half term.

The Phonics Screening paper entails 40 ‘alien’ (nonsense) and real words in which the children have to read correctly.

Thank you so much for your support,
